B&V’s services are utilized by various organizations to facilitate the execution of physical commodity trades, the operational and financial performance of voyage charter contracts, and to calculate delay time and demurrage when a ship is loading or discharging cargo in port. The services may be used to calculate freight and demurrage costs and for the secure transfer or sharing of documents and information to identifiable, qualified and / or authorized recipients of the service. Toward this end, we may process and share Personal Data and usage statistics with our clients (industrial producers, commodity traders, bulk terminals, and shipowners) for certain legitimate business purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, when users visit our Sites, view a trade or voyage, click on external links, securely upload or download documents related to a trade or voyage, and the ability to identify and prevent fraud. We may use third party service providers to help us operate our Sites or administer activities on our behalf. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes as stated in the Section “Third-Party Processors” above.

B&V has implemented appropriate policies in place to protect the security and confidentiality of all user Personal Data we receive. B&V limits disclosure of Personal Data to employees, its contractors, its clients, and its Sites users. Sensitive and private data exchange between our Sites and its users happens over an SSL secured communication channel and is end-to-end. No controls or safeguards are one hundred percent effective against data breaches or cyberattacks and there is always risk in providing personal data to any website or internet-based platform or service. If you do not wish to accept this risk, you should not provide any Personal Data to B&V.
No Error - Free Performance
B&V does not guarantee error-free performance of the Service or our privacy controls as set out in this Privacy Policy. We may not always catch an unintended privacy issue, despite our efforts to do so. Accordingly, we welcome your feedback regarding any privacy concerns that you may have, including how we can improve this Privacy Policy. B&V may retain personal data for a minimum of 6-years to satisfy regulatory compliance, including, but not limited to, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Though we do not currently anticipate a change in our ownership, in the event of a sale of the company or a significant portion of its assets, B&V may disclose or transfer Personal Data to a purchasing party.
